LIGHTS AT SEA - Lights at Sea (EP, 2008)

Lights at Sea has been making music in one form or another since 2001, but officialy started in February 2007 in Grand Rapids, Michigan after one of the members came home after being abroad for five years and decided to start playing music with his old friends in The City Sleep ( a local instrumental outfit that had been together since 2001.)Lights at Sea began to record basement demos and soon recruited more people to the band. Once the group was comfortable as a five piece, they went into the studio, recorded their debut cd/ep and have now self released it online.

This is Your Captain Speaking, released their debut album 'Storyboard' independently in Australia in May 2005. Clocking in at just under 66 minutes, the album's seven tracks were recorded live in a primary school library.
The first pressing of 'Storyboard' has sold out, but the album has now been re-issued on excellent UK label Resonant

In November 2008, the band released their second album, Eternal Return, which is released on the band's own label, with digital licensing through London-based Diogenes Music. The album has been described by US critics The Silent Ballet as "perhaps the most important record of the year".

It's a film that was released by Warp X (a subsidiary of Warp for which there is an ongoing tribute) and gives an insightful look at a festival that always brings us the cutting edge of today's music.

Alcest is a musical project born in Bagnols-sur-Cèze, France.Beginning as a raw black metal act in 1999, Alcest later became a vessel for Neige's "memories of another world" as the band evolved into his solo-project. While Alcest still retains some black metal roots, the music now draws more comparison to other genres such as shoegaze and post-rock.

Ganger formed in march 1995, in Glasgow, with the idea of doing a kind of krautrock thing - lots of folk were listening to ‘can’, ‘neu’, ‘kraftwerk’ etc. at the time. They started with 2 basses (stuart & graham), 2 drummers (james & steven), keyboards, guitar and clarinet (lucy). Ganger split in April 2000.
